I just installed a new hard drive and loaded windows xp. The hard drive letter is (F) instead of (C) how do I change it back to C?

Yes it runs fine just a nuisance everytime you load software you have to browse for the F. just thought it would be easier to change the letter.

Well you can change it in disk manager, but I don't know how that will affect your system. Windows should only install to C: (on a single OS system).
If anyone wants to correct me on that, I would appreciate it :)

@LH: Disk Management will not let you change the drive letter that Windows is installed to so reinstalling is the only way to change it.
Also while Windows normally installs to C: on a single OS system a few people have reported that the Flash Drives on their printer got detected the Windows XP setup as earlier drives like C: and pushed the letter Windows was installed to. It appears from reading above that it happened to OzSpitt.

Thanks jd, I knew about your first point, and, yes, now that you reminded me, I have seen that mal-installation mentioned before. Thanks again.

Thanks for the help. I'll just take everything out and install the op system and add them all back one at a time. It looks like it's going to be a long weekend here.
