I need help getting MWP to play 5.1 audio in a 2.1 setup.

I have a .mkv torrent (TV show) that was recorded in 720p and 5.1 audio, but I only have 2.1 speakers. I am only hearing 1% of the audio and only effects, no dialog. In the VLC player Audio -> Audio Device -> Stereo fixes this, but I can't find the equivalent in WMP.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm assuming by MWP you mean WMP. I would suggest trying the Play menu and then clicking "Audio and language tracks".. but other than that, I'm not sure. VLC is an extremely versatile player, leaps and bounds above WMP. It may be likely that you cannot change this is WMP. Don't give up hope, but I'm just letting you know.

Thanks - I didn't realize that WMP would be limited in this area since there are so many menu options. Maybe I'll just stick with VLC. Hard to believe WMP 11 is unlistenable in 2.1 if the source is 5.1 :-(
