Claes: Hallå! Välkommen! I like point-to-select, as well, and I have the same problem mentioned. There may be a registry hack to extend the time from mouse over until select, but I don't know it. To disable point-to-select, go to Control Panel -> (Appearance and Personalization) -> Folder Options. On the General tab is the choice between Single-Click and Double-Click.

Here's another interesting option in that same control panel. On the View tab, you can check "Use check boxes to select items". This adds a little check box, invisible until needed, to every File Explorer display. So, when selecting files you must left-click and a mouse over won't change the file name in a save dialog.
