(Solved) - CD Drive not working

Hi All
I have been trying to get this Freecom cd drive with built in CF/MS/MMS slots to work and still cannot seem to get to the point of whats wrong was helped last night after shorting PC out !!!!! in trying to solve so i wil list below what i see
1 shows up in MY Computer and will eject and when i right click, the little pie diagram tell me it is full with no space left ?, even with no cd disc in it ?.
2 shows up in Disk MANAGEMENT section and also has drive letter.
3 Shows up in device manager screen.
But just wont work !!!
Did uninstall and reinstall and no luck ?
any help would be great

simmey this could likely be a dust build up on the laser/lens. A slight wipe with a cotton bud with a small amount of of pure alcohol should cure this for starters. A swift dust with an eyebrush duster may also work.

As it is showing as a drive then do the above.

No luck on the cleaning ?
Dont know what the problem is at this stage !, anything else come to mind ?

Thats the one i have the card reader conponent is nice and compact, so suits me. Thinks you are right i might just get a new one as the one i have is in a computer a long time and owes me nothing and i cannot seem to fix the issue !

If the PC has an available 5.25" bay/slot, I would suggest, getting a DVD burner (which also reads and writes CDs) and connect only the 7in1 card reader on the Freecom.

I was coming around to some thing like that, when i copped that the card reader did not need the cd end and i have spare ports ?
