I have an In-car entertainment SONY dvd player with USB support. It is working flawlessly when a dvd/cd is played. when a pen drive/flash drive is connected it is playing ok for first few minutes, then automatically stops working. When I unplug the pen drive I see it very hot. I tried with different pen drives but it is the same case repeated. These pendrives when connected to PC working very good (even with the same heating problem). Sometimes when the car bumps over potholes the music stops. Sometimes without bumps also it stops working. However, there is absolutely no problem at all with Cds and DVDs.

sivavvit hi. As a test, try connecting it via a longish cable.

How old is the sony dvd player?
Have you had prior problems regarding the pen drive before?
Is the pen drive loose when plugged in?

Straight away sounds like loose connection
