Can't print with my Epson stylus R800

I have a possible unique printer problem. My printer is listed(win 7 found it), when trying to print it sends it to the que, but the printer just sits there and the printer icon goes away on the lower right of the desk top. I have an Epson Stylus R800 printer. When I go into the control panel and look at the preferences for my printer it is a single option, no choices with the Windows driver. I downloaded the latest driver for Vista but it is not compatable with Win 7 wouldn't allow me to install it. Thanks in advance for the responses I know you will give me...dcksjk

Are you looking in "Devices and Printers"? What options are available for the printer? I have an Epson Stylus printer, too, that has these options in Devices and Printers:
