No matter what Excel spreadsheet I try to open, I get this notice: "The file cannot be opened because your virus scanner has detected a problem with the file." I'm not a everyday user so the other person who had the same problem had solved his problem, I just do not understand how he did it.

Do you have antivirus software installed? If so what is it? Like Norton, McAfee, Avast, AVG, etc.

Star,

Do you mean that you have tried and / or running the StopSign Anti-virus program ??
This program has many reports of being a Rogue Program.
---------------------------------------
Do you mean there is a StopSign of some kind that appears when you want to open an Excel File ??
Please Post Back and Clarify.
Kindest Regards,
Rick P.♦:)
