Cant move folders

Hi everyone

I have photo folders on my desktop and am trying to move them but it keeps saying cannot move folder or file is open in another location can u please help me fix this so i can move them

Check to see what photo viewing/manipulation programs are running and close them before moving photos.

You can also attempt to do the move from booting into safe mode. There no other random programs should start.

Try unlocker

http://www.emptyloop.com/unlocker/

It will close all the open handles or request for your particular folder and lets you choose your desired action.

They are just photos taken off my memory card from my camera and put in folder on desktop

What you may have done is just put a shortcut to the memory card on your desktop. So, when you remove the card the shortcut cannot find it.

couple of suggestions
Rt click on the folder and open the properties.
Drag to recycle bin, from there you can delete.
Try opening / viewing one of the photos and see what application opens the photo. You can then close that application using task manager
