Cant login into secure websites

i hav vista and last week all of a sudden i wasnt able 2 log into facebook or twitter....any website thats secure i couldnt go on ive tried mozilla,internet explorer 8 and safari and it wouldnt work on none of them ...its killin me cuz my laptop isnt old i bought it this year...so can someone PLEASE HELP ME :-(

kingosgirl4ev, hello. The only thing that I can think of that would block secure websites for all browsers would be a firewall or malware that is blocking the network port, 443, that is used for secure connections. Check your firewall and maybe try turning it off temporarily to see if it's the problem. Also, scan for malware with any security suites that you have and something else such as SuperAntiSpyware or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

hey scottw i tried wat u said and nothing worked i used both of the security suites n turned off my firewall and it still blocks all secure sites :-(

OK, there are a few other possibilities that I didn't think of before. It could be related to security certificates, such as a corrupt store, or settings, or even a corrupted IP stack. Try the recommendations in the following thread which neatly summarizes several good diagnostics techniques.

If nothing there helps, copy an error message from one of the browsers so we can see if it has any useful info.
