Can you access your DVD drive normaly from My computer?
Can you post us a picture about your disk management so we can see the drives.

Does it work? Why do you want to change the drive letter?
If you unlug the drive and do a cold reboot then windows will change other drive letters. Shutdown and plug your DVD drive back in and again powerup and windows might assign a new drive letter to it if there was another device that windows recognized when the DVD drive was unplugged.

@germ-x I'm not sure it is relevant why I want to change. But I want to to be something other than "E" because I want to assign "E" to my external drive. The DVD is built in and I don't care to take down the machine to unplug the DVD. The DVD drive does function normally.

I can see the DVD CD drive in the My Computer list and I can access it.

Will post shot of the Disc Mgt next.

What part of the instructions do you not understand? That is the simplest way.

@Xhi, I guess #5 has me stopped. I chose the IMG and did not see the picture ... when is the "AFTER"?? I may or may not understand the Direct Link option. Does that mean a reader must click the link? Which option might be preferred?

You have the link to the picture which you have copied in step 4 you simply click on the Image button in your post and paste the link there. You will not see the picture until AFTER you hit the Send Post button.

So does that mean you won't have to learn how to post a picture until next time?

@Xhi No, I will learn/practice it for future use. Have long thought it to be useful. Thanks for the prompt.
