As title says - can't drag mkv files on to my portable hard drive or tablet - avi and divx are fine! Help

Operating system is win 7 64bit

Yes - it says windows explorer is closing down, my tablet is a nexus 7 and my phone is a s2, I can't drag and drop mkv files to either
