Really strange one this ...

All of a sudden last night any sites that I tried to access with Google (Gmail, GoogleReader even Google search) in the name came back with the following message ...

Navigation to the webpage was cancelled

At first I thought it was a problem with Chrome, however when I tried the same sites in IE I got exactly the same message ...

Checked my system with Malwarebytes, IObit Security 360, SuperAntiSpyware all came back clean ...

Checked my firewall (PCTools Firewall Plus) and Antivirus (Avast4 Home) and there were no problems, even uninstalled them but still got the same message ...

Some software I installed last night, I uninstalled using Revo Uninstaller and still got the same problem ...

Then all of a sudden tonight they worked alright, now they've stopped working again ....

System is Home Premium SP2 ...

Any ideas Guys ?

If it can work at a particular time and not the other time, it might be something to do with task scheduler or an unknown infection.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Classic View > Administrative tools > Task Scheduler, delete all the scheduled tasks.

To check further boot the computer in "Safe Mode with networking" and check with different browsers.
Also scan the computer in Safe mode.

Check the steps given here.

Thanks for the input ...

Had already tried most of what you posted anyway, before I asked the question ...

The only thing I tried subsequent to my original post was to uninstall my mobile broadband (out of frustration) and after having run various AV against the MBs installed files/folders ....

Also reran a registry cleaner I have ...

It appears to have solved the problem ...

However not really convinced that this was the cause of the problem ...

Now I'm working again, I guess we can close this thread ...
