A mate has just pop round my house and tried to connect to my wireless network.

We've typed in the network key and the system tray icon show that his laptop is connected to the wireless network.

When we go to IE it won't let us connect to the internet.

When he's at home he uses a usb modem to connect his laptop to the interweb.

His ISP is Orange UK (Freeserve/Wanadoo)

Any ideas?

A few things to check on the laptop:
1. Open a command prompt and ping the router. This will see if the machine is really talking to the router or if it just thinks it is.
If your router's IP address is 192.168.0.1 then the command to run would be ping 192.168.0.1
2. If that checks out look in the Internet Options for a proxy server.
How:
In Internet Explorer click Tools and click options.
Click the connections tab.
Click the LAN settings button and make the boxes are disabled unless it's a setting needed for the other internet service in which it could mess that up.
