I have an HP dv6871us entertainment notebook running Vista SP1 that I've owned since Feb. 2008.
It just recently stopped allowing me to move, re-size or close (by clicking x) any windows.
I can close windows using alt-f4 but that is the only way I've discovered.

Also sometimes on smaller message boxes the buttons such as next or cancel will be blank but you can still click on them and they will work.
I have not installed any new programs lately so it doesn't seem to be related to that.
It makes no difference whether I use the cordless mouse or the touchpad.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Lynn
