i just tried to install MS office 2007,2010 on windows xp sp3 but i have been getting the same error stating that windows installer service could not UPDATE ONE OR MORE protected windows files.
any suggestions??

Have yo uhad office installed before, like the demo version. Which version are you trying to install 2007 or 2010?

yes clearly i have installed office earlier,but this is the first time that i have incurred such a problem.MS office 07,i have the key it's not a trial version
