(Solved) - Cannot dump AVG!

Evomen via Revo,I cannot delete that &%##$%%% AVG from desktop nor my laptop.

Can anyone help?

I recommend AVG's own removal tools.

Thanks Xhi, but the AVG tools did not work. Tried it twice.

Seems there must some entry (s) in the registry that lock this program.

What is still there? What evidence do you have that it is actually AVG?

Try this. Take ownership of the folder and delete it in safe mode.

This may be solved. My main concern was that the default search engine showed up as AVG. (in FF and PaleMoon) I remembered that I can change that (small down arrow in the search engine box). Did that and now the AVG icon is gone and replaced with a Google icon.

Xhi, in addition to the above I saw many AVG folders and files when I soon searched for "AVG" via "Everything".

About the only thing you can do to eliminate those is to reinstall it and remove it using RevoUninstaller in Advanced mode. However if things are working now I'd leave it alone.

This may bite me down the road, but did as G41 suggested. Found a bunch of folders and files with AVG in the name. Deleted them in the Safe mode.

Also found some that were abbreviations for average ... kept them.

Solved, I hope!
