LOST MY POST - 2ND ATTEMPT. WHY DO I NOT SEE THE PICS I POSTED??? I HAD TO ADD THE LINKS TO THEM INSTEAD!

I Have tried everything to get rid of the PS/2 contraption in my HP Lap......w/no success - in pics (below - see links 1+2) please note that I went to "General tab" as instructed
and there was nothing at the botton of the window per suggestion.

What to do? Does anyone have a solution? I mean a surefire one :)

main.cpl will work too. Run box, or Start Search.

MIKE - I went to the mouse properties and I do not get the options you have shown me.
My window is different than yours. There is NO disabling option there.

It says at top - BUTTONS - POINTERS - POINTERS OPTIONS - WHEEL - HARDWARE

CLICKING ON EACH does NOT show the kind of window you have shown.
And there is NO disable function.

Then you need the Touchpad driver. Have a look on your computer manufacturers Support site.

Yes - I did this "main.cpl will work too. Run box, or Start Search."
NO SUCCESS - the same window that I already have comes into view with NO disable option.

If the damn 'picture function' was working I would show each of the windows.

What is the make and model of your machine?
windows may have just installed its own driver
You should also have an option to knock out the TPad via the FN keys, on a Toshiba it is FN + F5

Lighthouse quote - "Then you need the Touchpad driver. Have a look on your computer manufacturers Support site."

But I had the driver (many times) - and its in there now because whenever I delete it - it ALWAYS comes back on a re-boot.

Yep. You wanted to post pictures. But don't worry, we know the problem. It is the driver.

Lighthouse........OK driver - I'll re-load it again and go from there - @ least we've narrowed the field..........Thank you all

Pics used to load right into the Geek window as I recall - way back when - Right?

Pics could never be directly posted. They have to be put on a 3rd party site, and the IMG code posted.
