On the right side of my start menu in Win7 I have renamed the entry "Recorded TV" to "Dropbox" and set it to point to the Dropbox program. That was easy. But the balloon comment (Tooltip) over the entry still says "Watch TV programs recorded on your computer". Does anyone know how to change that? I have searched the registry but that comment doesn't appear in it anywhere.

bmwbiker,

Welcome to HTG.

I think there is a bit more to ToolTips than one would guess.

Raphoenix:

Thanks for the reference. It would appear then that the comments are hardcoded into the operating system. In any case my workaround is simply to set the renamed right start menu item to "Display as a menu". This is a klutzy solution, but at least it gets rid of the inappropriate comment. ---Ed

Ed,

Sounds like a Good Work Around to me. :)

I was really surprised with the Complexity of ToolTips when I researched your question for an answer.

Like You, I original thought ToolTips would be easy to code or could easily be changed.

Apparently not, Learn something new everyday. (LOL) :) :)
