Can I use my iPad as I do with my old tablet PC?

I want to be able to wirelessly project what is on my iPad to a remote monitor or over the internet. Also, to have the ability to draw, change colors and shapes of lines, etc., as I have been able to do with Windows Journal. Are any of the above possible with the iPad? I'm looking to upgrade when the 3 is introduced.

if you have an apple TV it can be done, but with out it i do not know.

hi genemahn, yes you can do it over the airplay in iPad, but first for that you hold have apple TV which should be connected to your television set. i would also like to know how previously you were connecting your old tablet pc to your TV set wirelessly? with wires i understand how to do.

and once you have got apple TV its very easy you can show your iPad / iPod / iPhone screen on your TV set wirelessly, and more over what ever you do on the device the same will show on the TV screen also.

I believe that Airplay mirroring only works with The iPad 2 and above.
Should work with "The new iPad".

I think that you can only stream Video with the iPad 1, and not actually mirror any app. This is because it uses the older A4 processor.

By remote monitor do you mean a remote computer or a remote TV?

If a remote computer, you can use SKYPE on the iPad and share 'desktops'.
