(Solved) - Can i install another a certain linux distro over existing one

have a dual-boot set-up of Xp and Kubuntu but for some reasons it got into kernel panic, i don't really have time to fix it manually and meanwhile i want to try some other distros, can i install another distro over the earlier mentioned linux distro.

As long as you format and reinstall on the Kubuntu partition you should be fine.
