I have a built in webcam on my laptop, but I don't much like the software. I have searched and can only find software to stream it to a website. I was hoping someone could recommend some webcam software for me to us on my own computer. I will only use it to play around with and sometimes use for instant messengers.

Built in webcam
(4 posts)Right, well, as I keep saying in hardware situations (not meaning to sound rude) you will need to download and install the drivers for your webcam. Since this is built in, you will have to find drivers for the make of your laptop, and then install the Webcam drivers.

Here is an online program that lets you mess around with filters and effects like a photo booth. It's a bunch of fun.

If you want to use your camera for video chat, most instant messengers have the software built in. All you need to do is press the "video" button.
I have the driver, that is no problem.
Thanks taybay. I'll have to check some of those programs out. Since instant messengers have built in cam software, I guess I just need something to replace the Toshiba Camera Assistance Software. A couple of those you posted sound good.
