I need the advice of the builder geeks :)
I currently have this motherboard. I had planned to purchase this Intel CPU for it. Is there a Ivy Bridge CPU that would be a better choice to pair with this motherboard?

LGA 1366 Core CPUs are to be Discontinued this year.
LGA 2011 Sandy Bridge E-series Processors took their place last year.
Purchase the Last of the 1366 CPUs while still available if you don't want to switch motherboards.
The new LGA 1155 Ivy Bridge CPUs are just for us Old PO' Builders on SS who can't do any better. (LOL) :) :)
