Hi,

Here is the situation:

Currently we are with Talk Talk, Signed up with tiscali, and we get about 3mb/s, so we want to change over to virgin, for the same price as we pay, we can get 60mb/s.

But if we cancel our talk talk subscription, will the XXXXX@tiscali.co.uk email be lost?

Thanks

Owen

I believe so. That's why I never use an ISP email service.

i believe so too. but if you can pop from the provider - then you can back them up locally via a client like windows mail, thunderbird, etc.,etc..

Phone your ISP, and see what they say.

Yes, check with your ISP. Sometimes for a meager fee, or free, you can keep your email account open.

You are likely to lose your old address after 3 weeks or perhaps 3 months, the support finishes when you leave.

Use Thunderbird, download from the server. Thunderbird should get all your emails but perhaps not sent. This really depends on how you controlled your tiscali account.
When TalkTalk took over it all went pearshaped. My old BT account, (btinternet.com) was closed down within 3 weeks when we went TT.
TT was so appalling at our old house we went Virgin on moving, fios.

All my accounts and inbox were saved in Thunderbird

Contacts and inbox should be seen, but sent folder may not work from the server end.

Create new gmail account in TB, problem solved because you have tiscali/TT addedd to address book
