There is a File named BOOTNXT in the Windows 8 Root.

The BOOTNXT Files on my Windows 8 installations are Empty but not zero length.

Have searched but found very little information concerning these installation files.

Does anyone know what the file is for OR have a MS TechNet reference link to it ????

Thanks,

Rick P.

Rick, pick up FILEALYZER and look at the file. It has some hidden security stuff.

Look at the STREAMS tab. 148 bytes worth.

Can't find much about it, but it appears to be part of the boot menu, don't have it, you can't get it?

I'll look at it with FILEALYZER.

From GS reference, I do think it has something to do with the Boot Manager.

Strange we have so little documentation from MS !?!?
