Hello I thought installing windows 7 would fix this problem that
came out of nowhere on vista. To boot into windows I must have
my windows dvd in the drive. I have 2 300gb raid sata drives stripping
as 1 600gb drive, that's my main C:\ with OS. d:\ was my media drive..
Which now isn't even in my computer.. So when I do startup repair
it says windows 7 d:\ and the right size for c:\ drive but wrong drive
letter so I click next/ok anyway. It will then say no problems found..

Any clue about bootmng missing or d drive?

Had the same problem trying to load Win7 on different HD. Had to reload my Vista program and take the computer to the factory settings. Then reloaded Windows 7 and selected my drive E (Vista on drive C) It did reload my bootmanager but comes up as a dual chose on my start up. I had to leave my bios to start on the vista drive. What a pain. Up grade does not seem to have boot manager on the disc.

I unplugged the d: drive. Ran startup repair twice till it finally registered win7 on c:\, it repaired, done. Replugged my d:\ in reboots fine without disk.
