BOOTMGR is missing

I formatted a partition containing my Windows Vista and now I have no operating system installed on my PC, the problem is that the message "BOOTMGR is missing" appears when booting from Hard Disk. Infact it stops me from installing any version of windows.

Go into your BIOS and change the boot sequence so it boots from your Cd. Insert your installation Cd and restart your computer.

Which installation CD should I insert? The problem is that I cannot proceed with Windows installation (Any version of Windows). In XP, the blue page error appears before starting to copy files... In 7, the progress is cancelled 27% done.

You might have to format your "C" drive and reinstall. Before doing that click here They offer a demo version that you can download install on another computer and make a bootable Cd. Insert that and it has some partition software on it that might help you get things straightened out. I haven't used the unbuntu that several members recommend. That's another option.
