My macbook pro, the last year version, will not boot up. It gets to the login screen and i type my password in correctly, and the login disappears and shows the desktop. It does not load any icons or the dock, just shows the wallpaper then reloads. I tried to do a fresh re-install but my book wont recognize the OS disk. Do I need to replace the Hard Drive?

I think that is what it is. Put you install disk in and run disk utility and see if it recognizes the disk if it dose re-format the drive. If it installs it wot be the HDD.
