I have to advise someone living 1000 miles away how to change the boot device on a Dell in order to boot from the CD drive. On my HP I tap "Esc" when the system starts and then I navigate to the CD drive, hit enter and then F4 to exit the Bios. What is the sequence on a Dell. I believe not all manufacturers use "Esc" to get into it in the first place.

And is it F4 for Exit?

Maybe I misunderstood. F12 is to select a drive type (CD ,USB etc) for a one time boot. ie If you are re-installing. Is this what you want?

No, I think you understood right. The "Exit" is for the "dry run". It's for booting from a CD of Ghost in case disaster strikes. But a dry run is in order (without booting).

OK. When you've done the F12 bit, you will be presented with a list.
Normally the top of the list will be your internal hard drive (system)
This will be already highlighted
So to exit, you just press Enter

OK, I guess that's one way of doing it. Thanks!
