So, this morning I come into the office and my secretary cannot turn on her computer. It is a Vista system that has been functioning normally for eight months, and no program changes were made yesterday.
When she turns on the computer, it goes to a screen that says BOOTMGR is missing. Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart. I followed the tutorial on this site to make a Vista boot disc, and to get that boot disc to repair the problem. However, after running the boot disc, and telling it to repair start-up, the computer told me that the problem could not automatically be repaired.
The log shows that several tests were successfully run, but ends with this:
Root Cause Found: Boot Manager missing or corrupt
Repair Action: File repair
Result: Failed, Error Code 0=x15
