For a very long time now, my XP computer has shown certain websites using text that appears very blurry and hard to read.

At first, I thought this was an issue with ClearType, but have since ruled that out. I have enabled and disabled ClearType several times to test for the problem but it does not change.

I have uploaded a screenshot highlighting the area that displays my problem. The website this is taken from is ArsTechnica.com and applies to many websites. I just cannot seem to figure out how to fix it. Everything is much more readable on other computers with the same operating systems on the same site, but mine is much more blurry.

Make sure you have the latest version of Java.(6.11).

I can confirm that I am currently running the latest version of Java. Still, the problem persists. Any other ideas anyone??

I just went to the Jobs.ars website so I could get to the same type of page you are viewing and it looked normal at first but when I used the View > Zoom > Zoom Out feature of the Mozilla Browser it looks very close to your view with the cities names being blurry and letters forced together.

Maybe try zooming in or changing the resolution settings on the monitor a few times.

That's actually a good point... try using Ctrl+0 to reset the page to the default zoom level.

Thanks for posting a response, but I just tried what you had mentioned, and it still didn't work for me.

Ugh... any other suggestions? I am completely baffled by this.

Thankyou! I have been using Mozilla for over a year and just recently (after changing the zoom within the browser) I hadn't been able to stop certain text from appearing blurry. Internet Explorer wasn't having this issue, only Mozilla.

I used the [Ctrl+0] and the problem is now resolved.

I'm glad this worked for someone, but darn... My issue appears to be something different. :*(

Anyone else have any ideas?
