Can someone offer help please

I am having to load my pc in "Safe Mode" as when I load normally it crashes and I see a blue screen for about 2 seconds before the computer reloads and gives me the option to load in "Safe Mode"

I have a recent HJT Log and a latest McAfee scan if this helps

Thanks a lot

Disable all your startup programs and try again.

Do you have a repair disk ?

Edit. I missed out this bit. Firstly, to stop the machine re-booting (so we can see what the Error is),
Right click on Computer, select Properties > Advanced system settings > Advanced > Startup and Recovery - Settings...
Uncheck the box for Automatically restart. click OK, OK,
Close all programs
Reboot

Thanks for your prompt reply, I have now unchecked the automatically restart box and rebooted the error message that was displayed on the blue screen said

STOP OX0000008E,
COXC0000005, OX8D9CA2E6, OX968FF040, OX00000000

As previously mentioned I have logs from HJT and McAfee if you need to look at them

Hope you can help, as I would be extremely appreciative

Paul

I need to know if I am doing something wrong or if what you have told me to do is ok

The blue screen that I am getting kept dissapearing to quickly for me to write anything down, after you told me to uncheck the automatic restart box the next time the blue screen appeared it did NOT dissapear. the only option it gave me was to press F8 to enter an advanced settings option?
This did not work in fact the only way to get rid of the blue screen was to turn off the main plug!

Is this because I unchecked the automatic restart box?
Or should I have been able to clear the blue screen and enter into "Safe Mode"

Appreciate you clearing up this very simple but annoying procedure

Um. I think it's maybe a hardware problem. Try taking out your memory modules, and then put 'em back again.

I think, because I can't find that stop error anywhere. Normally, it would indicate some sort of hardware error I believe. And Memory is always the first place to check.

This is normal. Blue Screen Errors appear when there is an error talking to the hardware in the computer and the safest thing for Windows to do is show the Blue Screen and stop all other activity.
The default behavior in Windows to to automaticly restart because some errors are just non-critical errors that only happen once in a blue moon because sometimes things don't work like they should.

This did not work in fact the only way to get rid of the blue screen was to turn off the main plug!

By default the power button sends a request to the Operating System to start the safe shutdown process (The same as you get when doing Start -> Shut Down).
Because the Operating System has stopped all activity, this request will go unanswered in most cases and you will need to just do a power off.
Besides plugging the power plug you can also hold the power button down for 5-15 seconds and the computer will just power off.

Or should I have been able to clear the blue screen and enter into "Safe Mode"

It depends on the error. The errors can range from a misbehaving software driver, to hardware issues like an overheating and/or overclocked processor, bad RAM (Memory) and many other things.

We are all glad to help.
Within the last year, I had Blue Screen errors from bad overclocks, bad hard drive and bad software drivers.
I can certainly agree on the annoyingness of these types of errors :)

The error code 0x0000008E (KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED) that means something went wrong with the Windows Kernel and it could not handle the problem. It's similar to a kernel panic in other Operating Systems.
This is one of the more rare errors that usually indicates you have a driver installed which is not functioning correctly and causing the kernel to not function right.
Sometimes this driver can be malfunctioning because of a hardware problem like bad memory but more likley, it is conflicting with either another driver or another piece of hardware in the computer.
Unfortunately, finding out which driver is causing this and why is very tricky.
The best thing to try first of all is to install available Service Packs, Windows Updates and driver updates to see if that fixes the problem because many updates will fix little bugs that can cause things like this.

I have been getting help from Geeks to Go and I am having the same problem with updating Maleware Bytes and Kaspersky online scanner. I have just removed McAfee as they thought that was the problem, I have checked Windows defender and firewall and all are turned off

But still I can not get my computer to update

Any ideas??????

Hellooo Frends,

BSOD Occurs When a WebCam Program is Started after the System is Put in Sleep Mode or Hibernation Mode beofre Restarting the System.

( I think the Program Name Should not me Mentioned Here since this is my First Post )

I faced the Same problem & Now i hav stopped Hibernating the System or Putting to Sleep mode.

& now i didnot See the BSOD for the past six months.

Helllo, LH,

I just Said what the Problem Could be for the BSOD,

Since i got the Same Problem when i start a webcam program after the system is put in sleep or Hibernation mode before a system Reboot.

i just suggested to check if it is the same problem i faced.

i dont think it needs a new topic for this.
