Which Linux-based Rescue CD is best, and why? I'd like to know what people think.
My preference is the Gentoo Linux-based SystemRescueCD: http://www.sysresccd.org/SystemRescueCd_Homepage
It has a clean, uncluttered interface, allows installation to RAM (can remove CD), and can be customised.
It includes Truecrypt and Fsarchiver, the latter being useful to get a quick overview of drive assignments (type in a terminal: fsarchiver probe), and a decent web browser (Midori, with SRCD site set as homepage) and file browser (Emelfm2) available quickly from the taskbar.
