I've found a privacy concious search engine that keeps no long term search history or even your IP on their server.
This is the search page which looks a bit like Google...if you click on the 'Search Privacy' link in the middle of it you'll read where it's at and other info.
You can change it's look from four options in the link top right. The Settings link in the middle gives you your filter preferences etc.
Mix it with SRWare Iron and you've got Chrome with a Google-like page without the privacy issues!
Looks good so far.
An addition to above post.If you prefer your search engine to be called StartPage instead of Ixquick use this link....they are the same in functionality:
I like this blog because it has really useful computer tips for non-technical users

THANKS for updating the AC 97 audio link.
That ridiculous Realtek driver page (with the #1, #2, #3 mirror setup) is ineffective.
One common driver that is on a LOT of computers I repair is the network adapter "Realtek 8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC." It's pathetic I know that from memory!
However, I have yet to find an iron-clad, reliable & consistent link for the most updated version. If I were a bit wiser, I would have saved it from the get-go.
Just to add to the filehippo.com nod, I have used it for 2+ years and had NO problems. I've even saved setup files, (and to test them,) right-click, go to Properties in the Context Menu, "Unblock," "Apply," "ok," which you only really are safe to do with MS downloads or when needing to, say, use .NETfx cleanup tool to reinstall, starting from .NET 1.1. However, from FileHippo, NONE of the downloads that I unblocked caused issues. They also have a WONDERFUL way of taking certain downloads, like Flash Player, and making them executables with Windows Installer, versus using that stupid Adobe DLM (Download Manager,) that requires a popup, ActiveX (FOR an ActiveX, ugh,) etc. They MAY have used a directlink to Adobe recently, but that's a poor example either way.
Their BEST DL's are Adobe Reader 8.1.3 (so much better than 9+ and all the crap they push on you,) as well as iTunes 7.6.0.29 (XP 32-bit users.) Apple makes it a federal case to find old downloads that WORK or that are even there.
I'd like to mention, if no one else has, VistaX64 as a good cross-reference site. It's mostly forum-related, but you get SOLUTIONS there. However, it's NO howtogeek.com, as there are no clever how-to articles in layman's terms and no cool links to bad-a$$ registry stuff like my favorite, "Take Ownership." (to context menu)
Kudos to the Geek. VistaX64 fills in some gaps. If there are any folks out there who own their own repair business or whatever, amax.com is the BEST and most reliable reseller if you are allowed to purchase wholesale.
They'll find ANYTHING, promote ASUS line, and have the BEST (in a fickle market) prices on Kingston RAM. You can even go through them to FIND a laptop that's not listed on their site. Building a PC from scratch is a 1-2-3 process. You can even have a DEDICATED sales representative.
Shopping-related sites are a little off the mark, but this is the best place to give AMAX.com the attention it deserves.
Windows Operating Systems and applications Simulator.
This site is really good if you need to know settings within OS or its applications that you don't have. I personally use it most of the days, when someone requires help with legacy OS.
I've found a handy backup and restore tool for all the major browsers including SRWare Iron and all profiles from each browser can be backed up simultaneously:
