Reminds me of a poodle I once had. Instead of tight, fluffy hair, like lambs wool, he had silky hair. When the moron breeder docked his tail (I have problems with that practice, along with ear cropping), he left it longer than usual. The hair on the tail would stream out behind it like a furry flag. That dog was proud of that tail. When I took him for walks, he would prance along with his head and tail held high.

When we took him to the groomer for his annual cut (we trimmed ourselves between cuts), we always instructed the groomer not to cut the hair on the tail. One time, the groomer cut it off anyway. After that, the poor dog would just trudge along on a walk, head hanging and tail tucked between his legs, until the hair finally grew back out.
