When I open a web page and would like to keep the music it has in the background, how do I do this?

Probable help would be http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/

It is open source free software and is quite a powerful program.

I have downloaded Audacity as mentioned but how do I use it to capture the music on page open in a web site?

There is a guide on HTG on recording the output of your computer:

That should allow you to record the audio that the browser is outputting.
