Hallo

I'd been looking for realisation of Active Desktop under Vista and found AveDesktopSites. Unfortunately, after the installation, when I run the program and add a site to show on my desktop just nothing happens (there is no firewall and errors during installation/running).

The description of the program and its streenshots look just great and I am craving to make it work, so if anyone knows how to fix it, it'd be just wonderful.

Thanks in advance,
Moisha

Try again with your wallpaper a solid color.

Thank you, but it does not work :(

I am sorry I did not mention it at first: I used a solid color wallpaper and the Windows Standard scheme.

Any ideas why the program just has no effect?

Are you getting any error messages?
How did you go about installing it?

No error messages, no nothing.

I downloaded AveDesktopSites2.zip, which contained AveDesktopSites.exe
and desktophook.dll. Then I ran the exe-file, which ran ok, set a site to display on my desktop, but nothing appeared on the desktop.

Now I've got the program in the tray, http://www.howtogeek.com at top=0, left=0, width=200, height=200, refresh=5 sec, buh nothing is displayed at the desktop.

Thank you for your attention, I will be happy if we make it work somehow

I am having the same problem as described although nothing above seems to correct the issue.

I am running Windows Vista 64bit though.

Good question, one best answered by the author, found at the bottom of one of his pages:

http://mpj.tomaatnet.nl/vista/

It does say Visual Studio 2005 SP1 needs to be installed.

I have that installed already. Any other ideas? Is it compatible with 64bit?
