(Solved) - audio device on start up

Hi,
Every time I start up my PC the little audio icon in the right hand bottom tool bar has a red cross over it. For some reason this device is disabled every time I shut down, so I click on it and run the troubleshooter which fixes it, but it is annoying that I have to do this all the time. The Driver is Sound Max Integrated Digital HD Audio, and it is up to date. Also, the volume setting reduces itself to 66% automatically, and I like it to remain at 100%

Hello again...
My problem has not been addressed although I see it has been viewed 49 times, I have copied a link so you can see what I see every time I start my computer, after which, I have to run trouble shooter to get it up and going again.

Hmm! always annoying, when no one replies, but maybe there is so many confusing bits attached to trying to reslove this, there is no definite answer.

I see you have updated drivers, which would be an obvious..
Assume you also do have TICKED.. the play windows sound!!!

Have you run Full Virus scans with Malawarebytes and Super anti spyware ( both Free)

As a matter of interest, were you able to see my link? It's the first time I have used a DropBox link, so I am interested if it worked for you?

Yep Link was fine, well done. It is always great when we find a new bit of technology...

(just as an aside....it took me six hours on another Forum to learn their way of posting POSH Links. Ha!!! but it was fun ,and was amazed how many others were following the progress and were too scared to admit and ask for help, they could not do it either :):)and then they all had to try their new found links...

LOL! glad to hear it worked. :)

Your link is very informative, and I went through all the steps.
But the thing is, I get it working after clicking the trouble shooter, so all the pointers were ok on my side. I'm just wondering why it is disabled at start up every time. Something happens at shut down obviously.

Have you run Full Scans and also just a thought how about a system restore to earlier date.
EDIT... also check your startup list

WoW! it looks like it came right on your advice...did what you said checked startup list, and then I shut down, and now it's fine!!
