Asus laptop won't turn on after installing windows 8

I formatted my laptop and installed windows 8 the setup went fine. After the restart it does not turn on. The power button lights up but the screen doesn't turn on and the bios doesn't appear. I believe it might be a bios issue since I had fancy start installed as a utility from asus.
Anyone know how to solve this and get my bios back on?
