ok, for some reason, my PNG's are being associated with a Nero program and I don't want them to be
how would I get the PNG's to be associated with Photoshop?
I know you would usually: right click > open with, however; that option is not available

If you go to the settings/options menu in photoshop you should be able to select the file types
it opens.

In Win7 open the Control Panel, then Default Programs. Now select 'Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program'. Find the extension in the list, highlight it, and select Change Program. You'll be presented with a list of programs or be able to browse for what you want. Set it and you are done.
