Any tips/caveats before upgrading BIOS?

hi, i wanna (try) to upgrade the BIOS on my laptop. i saw this site: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/.....topic=7033 do any of our gurus here have any tips or caveats before i do anything? i don't have any idea about upgrading BIOS.

Just make sure you've got the power plugged in... don't want the laptop shutting off during the middle.

i'll keep that in mind. ^_^

does the system restore also cover the BIOS? if i muck up something, can i use system restore?

Do you have a compelling reason to upgrade the BIOS? I only do a BIOS upgrade when there's a fix to be had.

I've not had a bad BIOS upgrade in a very long time, though... probably less risk these days.

well, i've been getting a stop error for win32k.sys, i read in another forum that updating the BIOS might solve the problem, i know it's a long shot, but i'm a little desperate ^_^.

Hang on a bit. There seems to be other possibilities for this error
