I was about to buy a antec 550w power supply from newegg when I read one of the reviews. The person said that if you have a Asus motherboard with a Antec power supply, the computer won't work. What I am wondering is that is it true? And if it is, is there anyway to fix it?

My computer specs:

Intel core 2 quad Q6600
Asus P45 mobo
Antec 900 case
seagate 500gb hard drive
evga 9800 gt
Lite-on DVD drive
Antec 550w power supply
muskin 4gb ddr2 ram

computernerd,
The Antech Power Supply you posted has been DEACTIVATED by newegg.
Suggest this substitute as it is in your price range plus has more watts (650) and 80 Plus Rated.

BTW: Haven't purchased Power Supplies in a while but noticed that they have gone up in price for higher wattages.

computernerd,

I suggested that you DO USE the 650 Watt power supply.
