Is there a way to view animated gifs in windows explorer like you used to be able to with filmstrip in XP?

My animated gifs work in IE. Just double click them. Maybe in windows explorer they would work if you made a third pane.
Edit. just tried with the third pane. It puts it into the third pane but for the animation it goes to IE.

Cheers WHS i've tried adding the preview pane in windows explorer but this doesn't work either.

It just seems like a step backwards from XP.
