A 100 year old single malt would be just fine :)

I still have a bottle of Long John from 1908 that was given to my father in 1949 by a British friend. And since neither he nor I drink any whisky, the bottle survived to this day.

Well, it's 100 years old. But was "Long John" single malt back then? It certainly hasn't been in my lifetime!

It does not say "single malt" on the label. I think it was bottled in the late 40's because it says 40 year old and as I understand it, that means 40 years in the barrel.

Yep, tis true what you say. But it seems it is a blended whisky. (Not so good). Although (I imagine), a lot better better than the blended whiskys of today!
