Please help.....The problem is whenever I open a desk top icon including IE, it opens at 1/2 size in the shape of a long verticle rectangle. I can open IE full size from my start button only. Any suggestions on how to resize all my desk to icons to full size....Much Thanks

Welcome artis. Try holding down the Ctrl (Control) key, and turn the scroll wheel on your mouse.

thanks, I tried but to no avail. I would like to be able to open any of the icons and have them open full size without any other keys. I'm wondering if there is some setting that would affect all the icons at once.

Ah. It's not the icons, but the programs you want to open fullscreen.(when you click on the icons). Yes?

If that is the case. Right click on the icon. Select properties. In the box next to "Run:", select "Maximised".

When I right click on an icon and select properties, I don't "run".

When you right click on an icon and select properties > Shortcut. Do you see something that says "Normal window"?

I see that for the MS IE icon and I was able to maximize run there. For other shotcut icons for saved web pages on my desktop, this isn't an option. They don't open full size.

I am able to have the IE open full size after your suggestion but would like my other icons (saved web pages) to open full size also.

Is there no way to get to the properties and tell it to open full screen

I change the size to maximized, this had no effect. I can open IE at full size, but all my short cuts on my desk top open half size. Any more suggestions for a fix would be gratefully accecpted.

When you right click on the desktop you should see something like the picture. If not, you have a problem.

Control Panel > System. Does it say Service Pack 1 (about 5 lines down from the top)
