GUYS NEED UR HELP..CAN U GIVE ME THE EXACT ANSWERS FOR THIS....I NEED THE EXACT..I AM SEARCHING ALSO THE ANSWERS BUT I NEED MORE HELP..THIS IS MY HOMEWORK IN CPC(computer programming class) and I am 2nd yr collge 17 yrs old Electronics & comunnication eng'g is my course..

>1. Why is there a need for memory partitioning?
> 2. Differentiate internal fragmentation from external fragmentation.
> 3. Explain what is Overlaying, its use and issues.

I just put in 2 pages worth and when I wanted to post it, bbPress copped out and I lost everything. When is this stuff ever going to function. If I have time, I'll try again (in a Word document).

Ah, whs. We had a discussion about this while ago when you were away (not intentionally). The general conceses was, to write it in a WP of some sort, and then copy'n'paste into the edit box on HTG. Sorry you missed it :(

Definition of dynamic partitioning:
In a symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) system, the ability to reassign processors, memory and I/O to specific applications on the fly without shutting down the machine. The reassignment can be done by the operator or automatically from a script that monitors conditions such as time of day or when the traffic to one application becomes excessive.

@illusionado, You are welcome. Too bad I lost my long answer due to the problems with bbPress and I did not feel like starting all over again. But as a hint: Usually you can find all the answers if you Google the subject. It is very rare, that you draw a blank.
