Adobe Reader 8.1.1 won't uninstall

I want to get rid of Adobe Reader on my WIN XP Home computer, but when I try to uninstall it, I receive the following error message: "Internal Error 2753 Updater.api_non_opt". I have tried the Adobe forum and knowledgebase without much success. The manual uninstall recommended by Adobe is too complicated for a novice like me (Run in Safe Mode, go to task manager, processes, end explorer.exe, new task using CMD line prompt to remove dlls, etc. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to remove Reader without going through three pages of instructions? Thanks

Try redownloading the installer.

You may have to remove any other adobe programs, like adobe download manager, and if it is listed in add remove programs, download the windows Install Clean Up utility from microsoft and run it, before trying to use add remove programs.

The Windows Install Clean Up worked like a charm and fixed this problem.
