I'm trying to add TOR browser to my ubuntu OS. After supposedly getting it on the computer, once i try to connect i get a message saying that "tor software exited unexpectedly."

I also get the message:

" p, li { white-space: pre-wrap; } "Vidalia can't out how to talk to Tor because it can't access this file: /home/dirtyharry/.tor-browser/Data/Tor/port.conf
Here's the last error message:
No such file or directory"

What do i need to do differently to get this to work?

Thanks!

porkchops1, there is a problem with the Tor network and I would suggest you re-look at this idea.
I did 'Tor' but for a very short time I can tell you. You need to understand how Tor works.
Recently myself and another moderator had problems via the Tor network to spam our email addresses so I would surely dispense with it. The malware that comes through Tor is bloody awful. Forget it.

What's the best browser to use? I was using TOR b/c it hides my ip address and supposedly hides your traffic or network.

What about cloakfish?

cloakfish.com

Thanks!
