Has anyone figured out a way to add a Delete button to the choices for the buttons on the Vista Win-Explorer command bar?

I know I can right click and Delete from the context list, but I want more or at least the same conveniences I had in XP Win-Explorer and this one was a lot more important to me than some of the other new bells and whistles that came with Vista, which I have already eliminated for lack of interest in.

Thanks for any tips,solutions etc.

There's no native way to do this.

You can use this add-on, although it's slightly buggy, so set a system restore point before using:

I saw the link and read about the QTTabBar, but the write-up was pretty vague and mostly yammered on about an UP button.

There was no mention of a Delete or other buttons, so I decided it was obviously a waste of time to mess with, since the writer couldn't even write about it in detail.

Thanks for the reply though and if I find something that works I'll be sure to drop it off here if nobody else does first.

Just thought I would mention that I found a temporary solution.

Right click on Recycle Bin and make a Shortcut.

Right click on Shortcut and Copy.

Paste a copy of the Shortcut in any folder it would be convenient to have one in, then just drag and drop anything to be deleted into the Recycle Bin Shortcut.

Kind of goofy, but still faster than Deleting from the right click & context menu.

There is a plugin at http://qttabbar.wikidot.com/plugins for QTTabBar to add a delete button to the QTTabBar toolbar.

Hmmm.... In this site's --- How To --- page,

"One of the most frustrating changes in Windows Vista is the lack of the "Up" button when browsing the file system. Sure, there's been a --link----- slightly buggy add-on -----link-- that you can use, but how about a really solid Up button that just works and doesn't bloat your system?"

The link goes to that QTTabBar.exe

So adding an add-on to an already buggy add-on doesn't seem like a very practical thing to do, but thanks for the reply.

@Lighthouse. Please do not mistake one's being honest and to the point for being sarcastic.
