Ad hoc problem

I followed the steps here http://www.labnol.org/software.....ter/11494/ to share my pc's internet with my phone.My phone can see wireless rarely and stays connected for a very short time.It can see and connect other hotspots without a problem.What should i do?

I have a wired modem but my pc has a wireless adaptor.

Which phone?
Many Android phones will not connect via ad hoc in stock configuration.

i tried with a nokia n95.It has symbian s60v3

Sorry, Symbian isn't my strength.
I believe what I'd try next is to run Connectify on the PC/laptop... it creates an actual hotspot, not an ad-hoc network.

I tried connectify and wifi hotspot creator.They didnt work.

It depends how powerful the wireless adapter is. Ad-hoc doesn't work that well, get a Wi-Fi router, I'd suggest (talking from experience).
