activation windows 7

I have 2 os's on 2 drives windows 7 is on my c drive a vista is on another drive. my problem is when I activate my vista my windows 7 deactivates, Why?

yes both are legal keys

this MAY help, but this is 2 versions of vista installed on one computer. i think this may be the possible problem

i recommend simply just making the move to windows 7
